The Chicago Committee to Commemorate Ukrainian Genocide Holodomor 1932-1933
is comprised of representatives of the numerous Ukrainian-American community organizations,
cultural institutions and Ukrainian churches of Chicagoland.

The purpose of this temporary Committee is to coordinate programs, exhibits and events
to commemorate the
75th Anniversary of the Ukrainian Genocide of 1932-1933
in which over 10,000,000 Ukrainians were starved to death by the Soviet Government.

We will be posting information about the programs, exhibits and commemorative events
we are planning for the Chicagoland area on this website.

"HOLODOMOR"- Ukrainian term for "death by starvation"
Ukrainians refer to the Genocide of 1932-1933 as the Holodomor.  The term "genocide" was not introduced into language until 1947.
